Navajo Health Foundation – Sage Memorial Hospital, Inc. was awarded the Dr. Daniel T. Cloud First Time Teen Cloud Award. TAPI honored 126 individuals, organizations, and initiatives during the 2022 Arizona Big Shots awards ceremony.
Charlotte Seaton, RN Supervisor, and Geneva Spencer, Lead CPhT, attended the awards ceremony and accepted the Dr. Daniel T. Cloud First Time Teen Cloud Award presented to Sage Memorial Hospital. Receiving the Daniel T. Cloud Outstanding Practice Award were healthcare providers that achieved a minimum 90% coverage level of their two-year-old patients (4 DTaP, 3 Polio, 1 MMR, 3 Hib, 3 Hep B, and 1 Varicella) and teen patients (1 Tdap and 1 MCV4).

GANADO, Ariz. – Sage Memorial Hospital announces the launch of its seasonal flu and COVID vaccine clinics. These clinics are part of our effort to protect the health and well-being of our community during the winter months.
Starting December 28, 2024, clinics will be held every Tuesday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will run until March 31, 2025. The clinics will take place in the hospital’s main lobby, providing an accessible space for individuals and families to receive their vaccines.
“We encourage everyone to come to our vaccine clinics,” said Christian Bigwater Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Sage Memorial Hospital.

- December 8th: Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, with P4 Delivery services.
- December 10th: The Mobile Unit will visit the Ganado Chapter from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, providing P4 Delivery services.
- December 11th: DM & ID Clinic available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering P4 Delivery and Public Health home visits.
- December 13th: The Mobile Unit will be at the Nazlini Chapter from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- December 15th: IOP from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, along with P4 Delivery services.
- December 17th: The Mobile Unit will visit the Steamboat Chapter from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with P4 Delivery services.
- December 18th: DM & ID Clinic from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, including Public Health home visits.
- December 22nd: The Mobile Unit will be available at the Wide Ruins Chapter from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- December 23rd: Mobile Clinic at Burnside Lowes from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with Public Health home visits.
- December 24th: DM & ID Clinic available from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- December 25th: No clinic (Christmas Day).
- December 29th: No clinic.
- December 31st: Public Health home visits scheduled.

Outpatient Clinic to open Dec. 4

GANADO, Ariz. – After years of planning and construction, the new $177 million Sage Memorial Hospital (SMH) is now open to the public in Ganado, Arizona.
“We are excited to start welcoming patients into our new location,” said SMH Director of Marketing and Public Relations Christian Bigwater. “This has been a long-awaited initiative for our community and we are proud to bring an advanced healthcare facilities and services to meet the needs of our patients.”
The hospital held a grand opening event on Aug. 23, giving the public an opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art facility before it officially opened its doors. Since then, hospital staff have been moving in phases to ensure a smooth transition.
On Dec. 2, following a successful survey by the Arizona Department of Health Services, Sage Memorial Hospital received its license and was given the approval to open its doors to the public. The first services to open at the new hospital is the Emergency Department on Dec. 3, followed by the Outpatient Clinic on Dec. 4.
“Sage Memorial Hospital is the only tribal healthcare facility that is licensed under the state of Arizona,” said SMH CEO Melinda White. “At SMH, patient safety and quality of care are our top priorities. Achieving hospital certification represents our commitment to planning and maintaining safe, high-quality patient care.”
