February 2025 Schedule for Mobile Clinics and Services

We’re would like to share our February 2025 schedule, featuring health services and mobile clinics across various chapters. The mobile unit team will offer walk-ins, referrals, Wellness Center referrals, diabetes and blood pressure screenings, medication refills, pregnancy testing, and rapid HIV/syphilis testing—all to meet the needs of our community members.

Mobile Clinics will be held across various chapters as follows:

  • Ganado Chapter: February 4, 10 am – 2 pm
  • Cornfields Chapter: February 7, 10 am – 2 pm
  • Wide Ruins Chapter: February 11, 10 am – 2 pm
  • Klagetoh Chapter: February 18, 10 am – 2 pm
  • Steamboat Chapter: February 20, 1 pm – 4 pm
  • Greasewood Chapter: February 25, 10 am -2 pm
  • Nazlini Chapter: February 27, 1 pm – 4 pm

Diabetes Clinics are scheduled for every Wednesday in February (5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th). Time slots are from 1 pm – 5 pm except for February 12 and 26 where we extend our hours to 8 am – 5 pm.

Our dedicated Public Health Nursing (PHN) team will be making home visits on select days throughout the month (February 3, 6, 10, 13, 14, 21, 24, 28).

Please note that we will be closed on February 17 for the holiday.

Sage Memorial Hospital Launches Seasonal Flu and COVID Vaccine Clinics

December 26, 2024

GANADO, Ariz. – Sage Memorial Hospital announces the launch of its seasonal flu and COVID vaccine clinics. These clinics are part of our effort to protect the health and well-being of our community during the winter months.

Starting December 28, 2024, clinics will be held every Tuesday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and will run until March 31, 2025. The clinics will take place in the hospital’s main lobby, providing an accessible space for individuals and families to receive their vaccines.

“We encourage everyone to come to our vaccine clinics,” said Christian Bigwater Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Sage Memorial Hospital.

Emergency Department Opens Dec. 3 at New Sage Memorial Hospital Facility

Outpatient Clinic to open Dec. 4

GANADO, Ariz. – After years of planning and construction, the new $177 million Sage Memorial Hospital (SMH) is now open to the public in Ganado, Arizona.

“We are excited to start welcoming patients into our new location,” said SMH Director of Marketing and Public Relations Christian Bigwater. “This has been a long-awaited initiative for our community and we are proud to bring an advanced healthcare facilities and services to meet the needs of our patients.”

The hospital held a grand opening event on Aug. 23, giving the public an opportunity to tour the state-of-the-art facility before it officially opened its doors. Since then, hospital staff have been moving in phases to ensure a smooth transition.

On Dec. 2, following a successful survey by the Arizona Department of Health Services, Sage Memorial Hospital received its license and was given the approval to open its doors to the public. The first services to open at the new hospital is the Emergency Department on Dec. 3, followed by the Outpatient Clinic on Dec. 4.

“Sage Memorial Hospital is the only tribal healthcare facility that is licensed under the state of Arizona,” said SMH CEO Melinda White. “At SMH, patient safety and quality of care are our top priorities. Achieving hospital certification represents our commitment to planning and maintaining safe, high-quality patient care.”

Sage Memorial Hospital Delivers 1,479 Vaccines at Three-Day Flu/COVID Event

GANADO, Ariz. – Sage Memorial Hospital announces the success of its 2024 Mass Flu/COVID Event, held from October 17-19, 2024, during which a total of 1,479 vaccines were administered.

The event began with two days dedicated to vaccinating students from various local schools, including GUSD – Ganado Unified School District, KDLO – Kin Da Lichii Olta, and GSCS – Greasewood Springs Community School. On the last day, the vaccine event opened to the community where members of the Navajo Nation and nearby towns were able to receive the flu and COVID-19 vaccines.

Sage Memorial Hospital Announces 2024 Mass Flu/COVID Vaccine Event

GANADO, Ariz. — Sage Memorial Hospital (SMH) is pleased to announce the schedule for the 2024 Mass Flu and COVID Vaccine Event. This three-day event will be held at the SMH Wellness Center on October 17, 18, and 19. The first two days will focus on flu vaccinations for students, while the third day will be open to the community, offering both flu vaccines and COVID vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

“We encourage everyone to protect themselves and their families from the flu and COVID,” said Chief Medical Officer Kenneth Anaeme, MD. “Vaccinations are vital for health, and Sage Memorial Hospital is proud to support our community with this event.”

“Flu is a serious illness and causes about 65,000 deaths every year in the US,” Dr. Anaeme adds. “Flu affects everyone but can be especially bad for our vulnerable populations of young children and the elderly.”
