Sage Memorial Hospital (SMH) is proud to announce that it has successfully completed its clinical portion of the survey by the Joint Commission. From February 28 through March 3, the hospital underwent a comprehensive review of its safety and quality standards, with an emphasis on patient care. The survey is conducted every three years but due to the pandemic the survey was delayed.
The accreditation process is an extensive review of SMH operations and processes, including interviews with hospital leadership, staff, and patients. The Joint Commission team also conducted a review SMH’s patient care practices, medical records, infection control, performance improvements and leadership.
Surveyor Lisa Nowak, MD, FACS praised the team’s effort regarding her visit when she said, “Thank you for your team, you made it pleasant to do this survey.”
“A huge thank you to the quality management team who has been preparing for this survey for the past four months,” said Sage Memorial Hospital CEO Melinda White. “It’s a testament the hard work and dedication of our staff, who strive every day to ensure that our patients receive the highest quality of care and safety – I could not be more proud of our team.”
