Sage Memorial Hospital announces the upcoming release of its second-quarter newsletter for Fiscal Year 2024. This edition highlights our hospital’s accomplishments and initiatives from January to March 2024. Look out for the newsletter insert in the Thursday, February 8 edition of the Navajo Times.

The contents of this issue include: ​

  1. Meet Our Dedicated Healthcare Recruiter – An article introducing Brenda Yazzie, the Healthcare Recruiter at Sage Memorial Hospital, and her role in bringing healthcare professionals to take care of the Diné people and surrounding communities. ​
  2. Sage Memorial Hospital in Navajo Nation constructs new facility to improve health care – An article discussing the construction of a new state-of-the-art hospital by Sage Memorial Hospital, which aims to provide better and more advanced healthcare to the Navajo Nation while incorporating and honoring the traditions of the Diné. ​
  3. A Glimpse into the Future of Rehabilitation Services – An interview with Deidrea Salabye, Director of Rehabilitation Services at Sage Memorial Hospital, discussing the expansion and improvement of rehabilitation services at the hospital. ​
  4. SMH Support Elders Through Wood Donation Program – An announcement about Project “Chizh for Elders,” a program aimed at supporting the elderly population within the Sage Memorial Hospital service area by providing free firewood during the cold winter months. ​
  5. Partnership Announcement: SMH P4 Grant & Bashas’ Supermarkets – An announcement about the partnership between Sage Memorial Hospital and Bashas’ Supermarkets through the P4 Grant Program, which aims to provide patients with access to fresh, healthy food options. ​
  6. Sage Memorial Hospital meets with Arizona State legislators for support – An article about Sage Memorial Hospital representatives meeting with Arizona state legislators to advocate for support in funding the installation of traffic lights on state highway 264. ​

Additional copies of the newsletter will be distributed to local service chapters in Ganado, Steamboat, Klagetoh, Wide Ruins, Greasewood Springs, Cornfields, Kinlichee, and Nazlini.
